Volunteers of the Month

November Volunteer of the Month

Jennifer & Dan Lee

Dan and Jennifer Lee became involved with the Arboretum in 2019 by way of the University of MN Master Gardener program.  That year they assisted with the G101 youth and adult programs.  Since 2020 they have been instrumental in developing and growing that program into what is now called the Community Giving Project.  The Community Giving Project includes the Giving Garden, Patio Garden and reintroduction of G101 Youth and G101 Adult programs impacting residents throughout Crow Wing County.  This year over 2400 pounds of fresh vegetables were donated to Crow Wing County food shelves through the Giving Garden.

Dan, a retired corporate attorney, serves as the Vice President on the Arboretum Board of Directors.  Dan was raised on a farm in southern MN which instilled the love of gardening.

Jennifer was raised in northwestern MN and moved south to escape the cold.  When not gardening, their favorite activities include hiking, skiing, traveling, reading, cooking and baking.
