April 6th - Part 1 - Cruciferous -
Presented By Erik Heimark - Do you love the taste of cheesy cauliflower, kale chips, roasted brussel sprouts or coleslaw? Learn the ins and outs of how to grow these demanding but rewarding vegetables and how best to preserve them for the winter.
April 13th - Part 2: Starting Seeds Indoors -
Presented by Coralee Fox - Are you interested in starting your own vegetables & flowers? Not sure how to begin? This session will provide common sense information: buying seeds; containers; timing; sowing seeds; location; light; bottom heat; watering & fertilizing; transplanting; & moving outdoors.
April 20th - Part 3 - Root Vegetables –
Presented by Pat Winthieser - This class will concentrate on root vegetables such as beets, carrots & potatoes. We will cover topics on soil preparation, seed selection, layout, maintenance such as weeding & watering, harvesting & winter storage.
April 27th - Part 4 - Tomatoes & Peppers -
Presented by Jo Ann Weaver - Tomatoes and Peppers often end up in the garden at the same time, however; they have some very different requirements. This session will offer information on variety selection, site preparation, maintenance, common pests, disease prevention, and use after harvest.
